Ruby valley is simply a remote home away from home. Ruby valley camping trek offers you the lifetime experience of remote Himalayan lifestyle within the proximity of the capital city of Nepal. It is a proper trekking destination to observe the daily routine of one of the oldest human civilizations co-existing closely with nature. Travelers from all around the world can enjoy this moderate difficult trekking at great extend to understand more about the local people as it also features different hospitality facilities such as homestay services. A perfect blend of nature, picturesque view of mountains, waterfalls, rivers, beautiful meadow living with warm welcoming, cheerful people and their humble and kind gestures, Ruby valley is simply a remote home away from home.

Ruby valley is located in Ganesh Himal region which is close to Langtang trekking route, couples of hour drive away towards the northern part of Kathmandu city. Still a least explored trekking trail, the valley is a hidden gem – literally and literarily. The valley has safe deposits of real gems – may be not in a significant amount. And also, the valley features the secretive lifestyle of Tamang, Gurung ethnic groups, unique from any other part of the country or world, unexplored and kept as pure as they can be. These communities still live in tribal clusters performing their ancient cultural practices and medicinal exercises without much intervention from modernity. These people are reliant on their nature, thus they reciprocates strong bond with their surroundings through their spirituality, mystic and their sensibility of ownership of their customs and practices. Ruby valley camping trek presents you the opportunity to capture the mentioned experience.

Ruby valley camping trek is truly a window to peep into the land of Himalayas. As you progress altitude, you will be able to see the magnificent sceneries of gigantic peaks of Annapurna massif, Mt. Ganesh, Mt. Manaslu and the enchanting Langtang series. Every meadow, hill top provides the broad wilderness, covered with thick forest, waterfalls at the opposite hills while every stop for a rest or drink or two presents different temples of Hindu and Buddhist deities resembling the religious tolerance in the country. It is recommended to visit Ruby Valley in spring season that falls in March and May. The season is impeccable for the open skies and good visibility that bestow rare opportunities to see rare and endangered species like the red panda, snow leopard, barking deer etc. And also, you can see the forest covered with vivid colors of beautiful rhododendrons.

Ruby Valley Camping trek begins from Syabrubesi as it is the main gate towards the classic Langtang region. No special permit is required for this trek as Ruby valley is not yet registered in (end of 2019) any conservation area or national park.

Diverse vegetation, deep forest and enrich climate makes the area rich in wildlife, birds and insects alike. It is a paradise for bird watchers and some fortunate visitors even get a rare glance of endangered species such as the red panda etc.

Bridim is a Tamang village, uniquely shaped and geographically located in Langtang region at the northern part of Kathmandu. It is probably the best suited for travelers who prefer or looking for the short trip into the countryside with the best visual of the rural Nepal within close distance to Kathmandu city. People are humble farmers who grow wheat, barley, maize, potato, millet and soybean to sustain their daily livelihood. This beautiful community is one of the exemplary self-reliant villages of mountain regions. Rich cultural and humble behaviors also run strong in the veins of these mountain people.

Dukpu Gompa is the main attraction of this camping trek. Rinpoche once chose the area to mediate in the Gompa. In terms of religious practices and festivals, there are several festive events that happen throughout the year. Lhosar, Dawa-Dangbo Tse-chu, Chuwaa Tse-chu etc are some of the major festivals that these shy and timid people take seriously to open themselves up and have fun with others including outsiders. They are actually good in dancing and creating environment for exciting duets.

Godekang is located at 3270 m elevation and is perfectly positioned in the side trek to Bridim. It serves as the grazing ground for the people of Bridim. Apart from these, there is a gompa in Godekang which is believed to be visited by Guru Rimpoche. We will visit the gompa during the trekking. We will be ascending gradually through the delightful bamboo forests and rhododendron forests. We will see several prayer flags. The area is blissful with the sight of grazing yaks and on the background of awesome view of mountains in all directions that includes Ganesh range, Langtang II and several other peaks of Tibet.

Bridim is an ideal choice for a perfect destination where you can experience the rich culture and tradition and witness the amazing natural beauty of this place.
For the best experience, it is recommended to plan the trip in Nepali spring or autum season which falls in March to May and September to November respectively. In spring the forests are reddish with the Rhododendron flower. Although this trip can be taken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for every trekker.

You will be mesmerized by the majestic view of Langtang and Ganesh Himal range during the Tamang heritage trekking. If lucky, you can encounter the wild animals like leopards, red panda’s and musk deer etc.

It should be noted that this trip is a combination camping, home stay and lodge trekking package.
