Join Kevin Scully on a fantastic 10-day painting holiday to Nepal, a narrow country so different from anywhere else in the world, lying between Tibet and India with its stunning backdrop of Mount Everest. The trip is being organised in association with Dolma Treks, an experienced company that has been operating trips to Nepal for many years.
Itinerary Detail
On our arrival in Kathmandu we will be escorted to our hotel where we will have a welcome dinner and trip briefing. We will spend one night in Kathmandu before a morning transfer to Patan, where we will be painting at Durbar Square. In the evening we will transfer to Bhaktapur for a full day’s painting, and from there we will visit Balthali village.
On day 5 we will take a short flight to Pokhara where we will spend the day painting at Phewa Lake. We will be arriving on the first day of the Dashain Festival, the greatest celebration of Nepal Hindus.
From Pokhara we will take a jeep ride to Ghandruk Village where we will spend the afternoon painting with spectacular views of Annapurna South as our backdrop. On the following day there will be an early morning mountain painting session before returning to Pokhara after lunch.
We will spend a morning sketching at Sarangkot before flying back to Kathmandu in the afternoon.
On day 9 we will spend the day painting in the capital, which may include the Monkey Temple and Boudhanath Stupa. On our final day we will be transferred to the airport, taking home with us memories of our fantastic trip.
The holiday is for painters of all levels of experience in the medium of their choice, and as the group will be small, they will be assured of plenty of individual one-to-one tuition.
